The Toulon Tourist Office has been committed to a strong disabled-friendly policy for several years now, reflected in a series of concrete initiatives and adapted services. The Tourist Office has also been awarded the “Tourism & Handicap” label for all 4 types of handicap (physical, mental, auditory and visual) and features a “Handibou” donation point.

Offering trained staff, ground floor offices, an adapted reception desk, hearing loop for visitors with hearing impairments, enlarged brochures for the visually-impaired and a brochure in Braille available at reception, the Toulon Tourist Office is fully adapted to welcome disabled visitors and satisfy their needs and requirements to the full.

All of our brochures contain icons indicating disabled-friendly facilities in local concert halls and theatres, restaurants and other public venues. All disabled-friendly sections of the city’s “Fountain Itinerary” – a guided tour run by the Toulon Tourist Office – are clearly indicated too, so you can enjoy your excursion to the full.

The various information relating to Toulon has been translated into Braille with the help of the “Groupement des Intellectuels Aveugles ou Amblyopes” and “Union des Aveugles Civils du Var” and a map of the bay in relief has been created to offer visually-impaired visitors an improved approach to local heritage.

The latest edition of “Toulon Accessible” (Disabled-Friendly Toulon) lists all of the disabled-friendly amenities and services (leisure, culture, tours, sport, shows, accommodation and restaurants) available in and around the city.
Toulon’s monthly cultural events guide – “L’Agenda” – is now recorded in audio version on a CD with the help of the Toulon sound library. You can listen to it at the Tourist Office or ask for it to be sent out to you.

The audio version of the guide is also available for streaming on the Toulon Tourist Office website.
Other disabled-friendly initiatives and projects are up and coming. We are open to all new suggestions that will help us provide our disabled visitors with even better access to every part of the city.
